Project Introduction: The Lesotho Highlands Water Supply Project is the largest bilateral infrastructure project between Lesotho and South Africa. It divides into four phases to execute. The project plans to divert the abundant water resources in Lesotho's mountainous areas to South Africa through the construction of complex tunnels and dam hubs. The Polihali Water Transfer Tunnel is the main project of the Lesotho Highlands Water Supply Project Phase II, led by China Electric Power Construction Hydropower 11th Bureau, and jointly implemented with Hydropower Third Bureau and South African localization enterprise Yunik. The project is located in Lesotho, which is situated in the southern inland of Africa. Due to the country's altitude exceeding 1000 meters, there is heavy snow and strong ultraviolet radiation in winter, which imposes strict requirements on the houses. Based on the actual situation of the client, a combination of villas, ZA houses, and H-beams was ultimately adopted, which not only meets the client's needs but also maximizes cost savings.
